Thats because the bold-looking crossover is an important car for Cadillac. But we also thought that the issue could be solved by dropping in a turbocharged four- or six-cylinder powerplant. The XT5 is on the large side of compact, so its closest rivals are really midsize. We described the XT5 above as straddling classes. We didn't think there was anything wrong with the engine, but we figured that Caddy had gone for MPGs-18 city/26 highway/21 combined-over performance.
